My granddaughter was turning four last weekend and I needed to think of a gift ASAP. When I saw a kit to build a puppet, I was immediately inspired to go in that direction. Knowing she loves to wear a cape like a superhero, I searched online for a superhero puppet suitable for a little girl...found one that even came with a cape and mask. I was sold, so I made the purchase and sent it in the mail since we live states apart. Well, to my dismay, she hated it! Loved the cape, but the puppet "freaked" her out!
I am committed to helping K love this puppet, darn it! Her mom helped her with a name for the puppet and I drew up some super characters in the hope that would endear her to Freaky Francine . Now I want to write a superhero story for a little girl. Hmmm....where to start.
With the help of this article I found, and my granddaughter's input, I am pretty sure we can create a pretty darn good story.
So far, K has told me that her super power is to fly so she can save the day. When I asked her just what she was saving the day from, she said, " Dinosaurs like T-Rex, alligators, and Dora." Most of those creatures with enormous size and big teeth I can work with, but Dora the Explorer I may have to leave out. I'll keep you posted!
